The program of your tour in Albania

DAY 1: Airport – Tirana (20km - 35 min)
Arrive at Mother Teresa Airport in Tirana. Your guide will greet you and accompany you to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a guided city tour.

DAY 2: Krujë – Shkodër (2h25 – 125km)
Today marks the first day of your journey. As you head north, make a stop in Krujë to explore the Skanderbeg Fortress. From the Sari Saltik Tekke, perched at 1,070 meters above sea level, you’ll enjoy one of the most breathtaking views in the region.
Next, continue to Shkodër, near the Montenegrin border, a key gateway for hikers venturing into the Albanian Alps. While in Shkodër, visit the impressive Abu Bakr Mosque, built in 1995 with support from Saudi Arabia, replacing an Ottoman mosque destroyed during the communist era.
For museum enthusiasts, the National Photography Museum is a must-see. It showcases the collection of Albania’s first photography studio (1858–1940), featuring images of men and women in traditional attire, fighters, and clan leaders—a vivid way to learn about the country’s history through visuals.
Did you know that most of Venice’s iconic masks are made in Shkodër? Visit the workshop, established in 1997, to explore its permanent exhibition.

Krujë
DAY 3: Shkodër – Koman (1h30 – 55km)
An early start for this third day of adventure as you head to Koman Lake for a nature-filled day. Visit a family living lakeside and learn about local life and agritourism. Later in the day, visit Lumi i Shales, a picturesque spot perfect for a refreshing break.
In the afternoon, take the boat back to Koman and return to Shkodër by evening.
Before nightfall, head to Rozafa Fortress, located south of the city. From there, enjoy a beautiful sunset and breathtaking views of the Drin River and Lake Skadar. If you’d like to get closer to the lake and take in its cool, calming ambiance, you can also reach it by biking along a dedicated trail.

Koman
DAY 4: Shköder - Pukë (1h20 - 60km)
Head to Pukë, a quaint mountain town surrounded by stunning natural landscapes.
Ideal for nature enthusiasts, the area offers several walking trails where you can connect with locals in a tranquil setting far removed from the bustling south.

DAY5: Pukë – Kukës - Prizren (2h30 – 145km)
Today, you’ll experience a completely different landscape. Kukës, a hidden gem still relatively unknown to tourists, is a haven of natural beauty. This city played a vital role during the Kosovo War in 1999, providing refuge for thousands of displaced Kosovars. The surrounding mountains and Lake Fierza offer excellent opportunities for hiking, trekking, and other outdoor activities. You’re sure to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and unspoiled nature of the region.
Later, head to Prizren in Kosovo, often considered the country’s most beautiful city.
Historical Note: Kosovo declared its independence unilaterally in 2008, and while around 100 countries have recognized its sovereignty, it is not yet recognized by the UN. Major powers like China and Russia continue to oppose its independence.
In Prizren, explore the iconic stone bridge, charming cobblestone streets, and Ottoman-influenced landmarks. Don’t miss the UNESCO-listed Church of Our Lady of Ljeviša.

Kukës
DAY 6: Prizren – Peshkopi (2h30 – 110 km)
During the day, make your way back to Albania to explore the Dibra region, the ancestral home of Skanderbeg’s family. You’ll arrive in the charming town of Peshkopi, nestled at the foot of Mount Korab. As the highest peak in Albania and North Macedonia, the mountain is a popular climb during the summer months, from June to September. While in Peshkopi, take a stroll through the Old Bazaar, unwind in the thermal springs, and soak up the stunning natural surroundings.

Prizren
DAY 7: Peshkopi – Struga – Ohrid (2h – 90 km)
On Day 7, head to North Macedonia to explore Struga and the UNESCO-listed city of Ohrid, recognized as a World Heritage Site since1979.
Struga is located on the northwest shore of Lake Ohrid. Stroll along the banks of the Black Drin River, relax on one of Struga’s beaches, or visit the city museum.
In Ohrid, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a boat ride, wander through the old town, unwind on its picturesque beaches, or visit its many churches and monasteries. The city is home to several medieval churches, the most iconic being Saint John at Kaneo, overlooking the lake.

Struga
DAY 8: Ohrid – Tushemisht – Korçë (1h40 – 75 km)
As you make your way to Korçë, take a break in Tushemisht to enjoy its charming little park, wander its cobblestone streets, and discover the local products offered by friendly residents.
Korçë, often called "Little Paris," boasts a francophile culture stemming from a strong French presence during World War I. The city was also home to a French lycée, where both the renowned writer Ismail Kadare and the dictator Enver Hoxha once studied. In Korçë, be sure to visit the Orthodox Cathedral, the 18th-century Old Bazaar, and the National Museum of Medieval Art.

DAY 9: Korçë – Farma Sotira – Përmet (2h50 – 130 km)
If you’re interested, not far from Korçë are Aromanian villages, home to a Latin-speaking Balkan community traditionally known as Orthodox shepherds. A visit to one of these villages offers the chance to explore historic churches, monasteries, or even a national park.
As you continue toward the town of Përmet, take a break at the renowned Farma Sotira, one of the pioneers of eco-tourism in Albania. This expansive site invites you to stroll through its grounds, meet the animals, enjoy food and drinks in the open air, or even go horseback riding.

DAY 10: Exploring Përmet and surroundings
The town itself may not be widely recognized, but its surroundings are famous for their natural treasures and are a cornerstone of eco-tourism in the region.
Today, you can explore Albania's largest national park, including the Benja thermal springs and its stunning canyon. Alternatively, you can raft down the Vjosa River, try kayaking, or even go hydrospeeding. A nearby canyon is also worth visiting for its breathtaking views. As you can see, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy.

DAY 11: Përmet – Gjirokastër (1h10 – 65 km)
Gjirokastër, also known as the “Slanted city”, (and you’ll soon see why) is a must-visit destination. Nevertheless, it's well worth a visit for its unique Ottoman architecture, as the famous writer Ismaïl Kadaré put it: “It was a slanted city, perhaps the most slanted in the world, defying all the laws of architecture and urban planning”, and you can the charming old town, its impressive castle, and intriguing museums.

DAY 12: Gjirokastër – Qeparo (1h45 – 90 km)
On this 12th day, head toward the coast, where the scenery transforms dramatically as you reach the famous Albanian Riviera. Drive along the coastline to enjoy the beaches or explore picturesque stone villages. Relax on the beach, discover hidden coves, or rent a kayak for a more adventurous experience.

DAY 13: Qeparo – Vlora (1h20 – 80 km)
As you travel along the coastline, take time to enjoy the many beaches, whether for a relaxing stroll or a refreshing swim. On your way to Vlora, stop at Llogara National Park for a scenic hike or simply to unwind after navigating the winding roads of the Riviera. For thrill-seekers, paragliding is an option, offering stunning views of the Albanian coast.
Once you arrive in Vlora, you may also have the chance to visit a local olive oil producer.

Qeparo
DAY 14: Vlora – Fier – Berat (1h40 – 85 km)
In the morning, head to the Zvërnec Peninsula, a serene and unique landscape. Enjoy a delightful morning exploring ancient ruins, wooden walkways, and charming monasteries.
On your way to Berat, stop near Fier for lunch in a unique setting, either before or after visiting the ruins of the ancient Greek and Roman city of Apollonia.
Arrive in Berat, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” where you can take part in a cooking class or explore the town. For those feeling adventurous, a hike on Mount Tomorr is another great option.

DAY 15: Berat – Divjakë – Durrës (2h – 120 km)
Today, spend some time at the Divjakë-Karavasta National Park, a paradise for bird enthusiasts where you might spot Dalmatian pelicans. If you’re up for it, you can also hike or rent a bike to explore the park’s pine forests and sandy dunes.
On your way back toward Tirana, take a final stop in Durrës. I’ll share some great recommendations to help you make your last moments in Albania truly memorable.

For your final day, head to Tirana, where you can either explore the vibrant capital and its many attractions or opt for a more peaceful retreat to a green escape like Bovilla Lake or Mount Dajti.
